Dora Segura

Dora Segura, Age 82, passed away Thursday, September 14th, 2017. She was born in Las Vegas, New Mexico on March 16th, 1935, to Samuel and Trinidad Tafoya. She was preceded in death by her parents and husband Thomas Anthony Segura Sr.
Dora was married to Thomas Anthony Segura Sr. for 44 years. They were married on February 7th, 1970. She received a Doctorate Degree in Education from the University of New Mexico.
Dora is survived by her two sons, Thomas Anthony Jr. and wife Cynthia Segura of Cedar Park, TX; Neno Samuel and wife Brenda Segura of Rio Rancho NM. Five grandkids, Stephen Anthony and wife Samantha Segura of Hurst TX; Geoffery Scott Segura of Albuquerque, NM; Devan James Segura of Austin, TX; Branden Scott Segura of Rio Rancho, NM; and Lauren Angel Segura of Austin, TX. She had a great granddaughter Adara Danielle Segura. Two brothers, Andrew Tafoya of Los Lunas, NM and Marty Tafoya of Albuquerque, NM. One sister, Dolores Ulibarri of Edgewood, NM.
Dora was an avid member of St. Thomas Aquinas Church where she was involved with many organizations throughout the church like the Choir where she sang every Sunday. She was a member of The Catholic Daughters of America. She served the Lord sixteen years as a sister of the catholic convent where she began her career as an educator. She then attended college at the University of New Mexico and received her Doctorate Degree of Education. She was a certified member of the American Federation of Teachers and her career as a teacher spanned over 30 years amongst various New Mexico schools. Dora had a passion for the arts and music, but nothing compared to her love for her two sons, grandchildren, and her great granddaughter.  

Visitation will be held , Sara Chapel, - On September 21, 2017 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM.
