Tronset, Floyd Erwin
Floyd Erwin Tronset, 93, passed away peacefully on Monday, February 13, 2017 surrounded by his loving family. The son of Norwegian immigrants, Floyd was born in Milton, North Dakota on February 26, 1923 to Emma and John Tronset. Floyd grew up on the family farm. He enlisted in the Army Air Corp in 1942 serving until 1948 as an Aviation Crew Chief in World War II. He also served in the New Mexico Air National Guard and the U.S. Air Force from 1948 to 1952 during the Korean Conflict. Floyd then worked for the Department of Defense as a Production Controller for missile systems at Vandenberg Air Force Base, California retiring in 1970. He also retired from the California school system in 1978.
Floyd met and married Marcella Serna in Albuquerque, New Mexico in June of 1946. They met at the Alvarado Hotel where she was a Harvey Girl and he was stationed at Kirkland Air Force Base. They spent their early married years in southern California retiring to New Mexico in 1978. In 2016 they celebrated their 70th Wedding Anniversary.
Floyd was a kind and loving father who will be deeply missed by his family including his wife, Marcella; his daughters, Gloria Cotton (Steven), Lisa Dobson, and LaVerne Kershaw (William III); his grandchildren, Vanessa Dick, Rebecca Porter (Eden), Seth Dobson (Kathleen), Shawna Adams (Dustin), Kathleen Tuttle (Taylor), and William Kershaw IV; and his great-grandchildren, Eden Porter, Julia Porter, Genevieve Dobson, Gideon Dobson, Cormac Dobson, Catalina Adams, Jay Adams, and Shae Adams. Floyd was preceded in death by his seven siblings and his son-in-law, David Dobson.
The family is very grateful for the caring and professional services and support provided to Floyd by the Presbyterian Healthcare at Home Hospice staff. A public visitation will be held Wednesday, February 22 from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon at Daniels Family Funeral Services, Sara Road Chapel.
