John Atencio

Atencio, John  
Age 86, died Tuesday, July 11, 2017 at his home in Albuquerque, New Mexico. He was born in Vernal, Utah on February 5, 1931, to Pete and Bernice Atencio. John served in the Korean War and was awarded the purple heart by the United States Marine Corps.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Josephine.
John is survived by sons, Sam, Michael Atencio and wife, Ramie; step children, Margarito Crespin and wife, Alberta, Vickie Crespin, Doris Anderson and husband, Kenny, Roland Crespin and wife, Lorrie, Jim Bledsoe and wife, Edwina; he was blessed with 17 grandchildren ; 15 great grandchildren; two brothers, Fred and Bobby; a special nephew, Tony Willis and other nephews and nieces. Also a special acknowledgement and thank you to be extended to his grandson Ross Anderson during his last time of need.
A visitation will be held from 10-11am on Monday, July 24, 2017 at Garcia Mortuary Chapel, 717 Stover Ave. SW. Inurnment will follow at Santa Fe National Cemetery at 12:45 pm.
