Uhrich, Larry J.
Lawrence Joseph “Larry” Uhrich, age 86 of Rio Rancho, NM passed July 23, 2017. Larry was born May 28, 1931 in Roscoe, SD. Preceded in death by his wife Catherine “Kitty” (McGowen), daughter Cabrini (Jeff) Schillig, mother Clara (Glatt), father Stanislaus, sisters Chris (Paul) Binfet, Wally (Walter) Binfet, and Rose (Frank) Piatz, grandson Andrew Shoemaker. Survived by sisters Eva (Wendlin) Binfet, and Jean (Don) Bertsch; brother Tom (Jean); sons Joe, Terry (Tammy), Jack (Nyki), and Ed (Gloria); daughter Catherine (Patrick) Herbert; many grandkids, great grandkids, nephews, nieces, and friends. Larry was active in Christian education, and served as President of the Regis High School Board of Directors in the middle 1970’s, helping to lay the groundwork for the Regis Foundation to ensure the ongoing availability of Catholic education in Eau Claire, WI. Larry and Kitty were also active in the Right to Life Committee of New Mexico where both served as board members, and Larry served several terms as President. Most recently, Larry and Kitty were intimately involved in the formation of St. John Vianney Catholic Church in Rio Ranch, NM where Larry was a key member of the Building Committee. Dad will be missed by all who knew and loved him, and will be interred with Mom in the National Cemetery in Santa Fe, New Mexico. Visitation will be held Friday, July 28, 2017, 10:30 am with a Rosary to follow at 11:00am at St. John Vianney Catholic Church, 1001 Meteor Ave NE, Rio Rancho.
