Mark S. McCracken

Mark S. McCracken, age 55, entered the gates of heaven unexpectedly on Saturday, September 9, 2017 in Rio Rancho, New Mexico.  Mark was born on November 12, 1961 in Aleppo, PA.  He was preceded in death by his parents, Raymond and Barbara McCracken, brother Gregory McCracken of Albuquerque, NM and father-in-law, George Lucero of Rio Rancho, NM.  He is survived by his loving wife, LeeAnn, his sons, Dillan (Megan) and Kevin of Rio Rancho, NM; mother-in-law Christine Lucero of Rio Rancho; two sisters, Sue (Ernie) Gonzales of Albuquerque; Mary Beth (Thomas) Gaston of Center Point, Texas; one brother, Doug (Marybeth) McCracken of New York, as well as numerous nieces, nephews and friends.  

Serving as Pallbearers are Tim Bauhman, Mike Loftus, Mark Velarde’, Adrian Perez, Jeff Bowerman, David Lucero.  

Honorary Pallbearers include: David Howes, Chris Howe, Brandon Darlington, Herb McKinley, Adrian Montoya, Carl Bruere, Damian Elebario, Pat Mastriano, and Vinny Ferdinand, Shae Nolan and Milton Carrasco.

Mark began his law enforcement career as a cadet with the New Mexico State Police Recruitment Class #40, graduating in October 1982.  He served with the New Mexico State Police as a Officer, Sergeant, retirement in 2003 as a Lieutenant.  Mark later joined Safer New Mexico where he served as the Chief Operating Officer until his death.  He was a devoted husband and father who was very proud of the accomplishments of his wife and sons.  He will be greatly missed by them, as well as all of those who loved him and whose lives he touched.  

A celebration of his life will be held at Daniels Family Funeral Home on Saturday, September 16, 2017 at 10am.  
Internment will follow at Gates of Heaven Cemetery located at Paseo Del Norte and Wyoming.  A reception will follow.  
Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Daniels Family Funeral Services located at 2400 Southern Blvd. SE, Rio Rancho, New Mexico.
