Light , Nancy Sharp
Age 69, passed away Sunday, September 17, 2017. She was born in Cleveland, OH on February 10, 1948, to Richard Carl and Vivian McGregor Light.
Vivian graduated from Cheyenne Mountain High School, in Colorado Springs, CO. She received her Bachelors at Colorado University and went on to accomplish her Masters at the University of Phoenix. Nancy was a dedicated teacher and counselor. She taught middle school Language Arts and implemented an award winning alcohol and substance abuse recovery program, designed specifically for the Zuni culture. The first of this kind in all the U.S. all while working on the Zuni Reservation for 13 years. This led Nancy to design curricula for the reservations all over the western U.S. in which she was recognized by Nancy Reagan. She also was also awarded U.S. West Outstanding Teacher by Governor Gary Carruthers. Nancy Retired from Corrales International School in 2016. In her final days, she was writing a book for young adults which will be published posthumously. She loved backpacking, camping, and fly fishing, and enjoyed a good cigar and Scotch.

Nancy is survived by her brother, Thomas Warrinton (Bonnie) Light of Colorado Springs, CO; sisters, Susan Light Gothard of Rio Rancho, NM and Amy light Sisneros of Santa Fe, NM; nephew, Micah Fitzgerald (Taran) Sisneros of Santa Monica, CA; niece, Lindsey O' Hara Light (Brent Straw) of Ft. Collins CO; grand nephew, Bodhi Fitzgerald-Collis; grand niece, Vivi Mae Straw; Step children and grandchild, Judy, Tim, Dennis, Teresa and Ari Sharp
