Secundino (Sec), Sanchez, went to be with the Lord on July 21 2017, after a long illness. Sec was born on Oct. 24 1930, in Puerto de Luna, NM to Aldofo and Ignacita Sanchez. On Jan. 7, 1952, Sec married Sylvia Padilla who was also from Puerto De Luna.
Sec attended and graduated from Santa Rosa High School in 1948 where he participated in Future Farmers of America and football.
Sec retired for the U.S. Post Office after 33 years of service. After retirement Sec went on to become a General Contractor. During his early years in PDL he grew up on a ranch where he helped raise horses, cattle the many other chores associated with being raised on a ranch.
Sec didn’t have many hobbies but he sure did enjoy watching his Westerns, The Big Valley, Gunsmoke, The Rifleman and any movie with John Wayne. Sec also enjoyed watching his Dallas Cowboys and Seattle Seahawks.
Sec was preceded in death by his daughter, Cecilia five years ago. Cecilia’s death took a toll on Sec, but his faith in our Lord kept him strong during his failing health. Sec was on dialysis for the past 4 years and also suffered from heart problems. He was also preceded in death by his parents, three brothers Benny, Arsenio and Chris, daughter in law Barbara Sanchez (Fred).
Sec was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend.
Sec is survived by his wife Sylvia, 65 years, two sons Fred, Charles and wife Bridget of Seattle, WA. Daughter Mary Frances and husband John, Sister Amelia Sanchez. Sec is also survived by five grandchildren Melissa, Vanessa, Rachel, Scott Sanchez and Jena Lovato. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
We would like to thank Fr. Bill Sanchez (nephew) who presided over the services for Sec.
We would also like to than the many wonderful and dedicated Fresenius Medical Care Team of dialysis who took care of Sec for the last four years. Also we would like to thank his many caring doctors, Dr. Friedman (heart), Dr. C. Conlon (primary), Dr. Banerjee (renal medicine) and Dr. Peisagovich (rheumatologist).
A rosary will be recited at 10:30 am on Thursday, July 27, 2017 followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 am at Our Lady of Annunciation Parish, 2532 Vermont NE Albuquerque.
Burial will follow the mass at Gate of Heaven Cemetery, 7999 Wyoming Blvd. NE.
A reception will be held after the interment from 1:30 pm to 3:30 pm on Thursday at Daniels Family Funeral Services, Wyoming Sun Room Reception Center, 7601 Wyoming Blvd. NE
