Age 86, passed away Monday, July 24, 2017. She was born in Del Rio, TX on September 26, 1930, to Ramona Sanchez and stepfather Antonio Zavala.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 69 years, Elias Sifuentes; daughter, Raquel Sifuentes; son, Ricardo Sifuentes.
Velia is survived by sons: Manolo Sifuentes, Elias Sifuentes, Jr., Alejandro Sifuentes; daughters: Esther Sifuentes, Rebecca Sifuentes and Ramona Rodriguez and husband, Robert; grandchildren: Samantha Perez and husband Reinaldo, Vanessa Ann Rodriguez and Joseph Rodriguez and wife Ester; great-grandchildren: MiaLeeza Rodriguez, Grace and Joseph Rodriguez, Jr. and Godchild, Tony Zavala. The family would like to send a special thank you to caregiver, Carmen Baldonado.
Rosary to be recited on Tuesday, August 1, 2017 at 10:30 am at Queen of Heaven, 5303 Phoenix Ave NE, Albuquerque. Mass of Christian Burial to follow.
Burial will take place Wednesday, August 2, 2017 at 3:00 pm at Santa Fe National Cemetery.
Velia will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.
