Zachary Tyler Thoesen
12/12/94 – 7/17/17
Zachary Tyler Thoesen was born to Robert and Kelly Thoesen on December 12th, 1994 and for the short 8253 days that Zachary walked this earth; there wasn’t a day that went by that he didn’t bring laughter and joy into the lives of those around him. His infectious laugh, quick wit, and physical humor often left those in his presence in tears of laughter.
Zachary was a deeply compassionate man. His compassion was manifest in his love for his parents Robert & Kelly, his little sister Emma, his Mimi, his grandparents John & Paula in Roswell, his Aunt Kimmy in Tucson, his extended family, friends, the strong bond he shared with his Papa, and the career field he chose to pursue. Many citizens of our city received medical attention and comfort as Zach worked as an EMT and Emergency Room Technician at Lovelace Medical Center. His ability to stay calm under stress, apply the knowledge he learned from the nurses and physicians he supported, brought comfort not only to the patients he served, but also to their families.
Zachary also had a strong bond with his pets. From his earliest years he loved his dogs: Dotty, Lucy, Lexi and Winston with a tenderness that grew into a compassion for others.
Zach had many passions in his life. He was an amazing bassist and hard rock guitarist. His eye for photography was well known on the local music scene and he was often found photographing local metal bands or the strong contrasts of Albuquerque city life. During the riots of 2014, Zachary’s dramatic photographs were picked up by CNN i-Report and viewed during international coverage of the events. Most recently, Zachary began riding motorcycles and was found riding to Sandia Crest, downtown and other popular New Mexico destinations; often way too fast.
Tears of laughter turned to tears of sorrow as Zachary’s life ended suddenly and unexpectedly. Those left, bear the crushing sadness of losing him, and the deep thankfulness for the time we had with him.
His service will be on Monday, July 24 at 9am at Calvary on Osuna. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations are made in the name of Zachary Thoesen to the New Mexico Animal Humane Society.
Romans 8:38-39
For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.
