Gerald Serna, affectionately known as “Jerry”, age 65, departed this life suddenly into the loving arms of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on August 10, 2019.
He is survived by his wife Genevieve; daughters Dolores and husband Steve, Estrella and husband Ben, Leslie and husband Dale, Debra and husband Joseph; life-long friend, Richard "Dickie" Aragon and wife Mona; many grandchildren numerous great grandchildren; nephews and nieces, too many to mention each by name.
He loved his family and adored all his grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Jerry proudly served our country in the US Army and Army National Guard where he retired as 1st Sergeant after 20 + years during which time Jerry succeeded obtaining his Associates Degree in Business.
Jerry enjoyed 35 rewarding years working with Thompson Heating and Air Conditioning as a Field Supervisor. Jerry enjoyed his work and being active, that after retiring from Thompson’s he went back to work in the field.
Jerry was a generous man and was always available to help anyone with anything at any time.
The family appreciates and is forever grateful for the love and care given to Jerry in his final days.
His love lives on in the ones left behind, and he will be forever missed. Gone but not forgotten.
Visitation will be held at 9:30 a.m. with a Funeral Service to follow at 10:30 a.m. and a Reception at 11:30 a.m. on Wednesday, August 21, 2019 at Daniels Family Funerals and Cremation - Wyoming Chapel, 7601 Wyoming Blvd NE. Pallbearers are Joseph Duran, Collin McClung, Jake Morgan, Lenny Gallegos, Steve McClung and Marvin Lister. Honorary Pallbearer is Gary Thompson. Graveside Service will be held at 2:15 p.m. at Santa Fe National Cemetery, 501 N Guadalupe St. Santa Fe, New Mexico with Full Military Honors.
