Fred “Cosmo” Alan Chavez

Fred “Cosmo” Alan Chavez passed away on September 11, 2021 in Albuquerque, NM at the age of 56.

Fred is survived by his sons, Fred Jr. Chavez, Daniel Chavez and Jeffery Chavez and daughter-in-law, Angelique Chavez of Albuquerque, NM and Zacxary Gurule of Phoenix, AZ; brothers, Daniel Chavez and Anthony Chavez of Albuquerque, NM; sisters, Lisa Griego, Marie Vasquez, and Valeria Zamora of Albuquerque, NM; grandchildren, Sean Chavez, Analya Chavez, Ruby Chavez, Noah Rivera, Anastasia Rivera, and godson, Armando Peuentes. He is preceded in death by his parents, Armando Chavez and Gloria Quintana.

Fred was born on June 26, 1965 in Albuquerque, NM to Armando Chavez and Gloria Quintana. He attended West Mesa High School in Albuquerque, NM. On November 26, 2011 at Esleta he met his beloved life partner of 10 years, Erica Chavez. His children remember him as a kind, gentle, and loving father who encouraged them to pursue their dreams.

Fred was a generous individual who loved going fishing and golfing. On the weekends you could find him riding his Harley around town.

A memorial service is scheduled for Thursday, September 23, 2021 at 10:30 am at Daniels Sara Chapel, 4310 Sara Rd. SE, Rio Rancho, NM 87124.
