Sinclair, Alan R.
Age 85, passed away peacefully Tuesday, August 15, 2017 with his family by his side. He was born on his grandparents' farm in Parshall, ND on December 26, 1931 to Lester (Ted) and Valera (Schram) Sinclair. As a young man he was employed with the Corp of Engineers in the Dakotas for several years before moving to New Mexico and attending UNM School of Engineering in Albuquerque, obtaining his Bachelor Degree in Civil Engineering in 1969. Relocating to Santa Fe, NM he worked with the Public Health Service and traveled the state on various projects. In 1974 he moved to Socorro and began employment with the Bureau of Land Management where he retired in 1985. With a keen intelligence and natural talent Alan could fix or build anything and was always happy to share his knowledge and equipment to help others with their projects. Never without a workshop, he was an avid hobbyist and collected RC airplanes planning to one day build an experimental airplane. He even had a short wave radio in the sixties that he and his niece would use to talk to people around the world. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him. He was preceded in death by his parents and sister Valera Hayes. Alan is survived by his devoted and loving niece, Valera Woken; as well as many dear friends. Cremation will take place.
