Charlotte Monette was reunited in heaven with her husband on Thursday, October 12, 2017.  Charlotte was born October 21, 1938 in Gallup, NM to Edward and Pauline (Schmaltz) Lackey. She and her brother Fred Lackey were blessed with a loving step-father, Paul Platter, and another sister, Pauline "Babe" Barker. Charlotte met the love of her life Chuck, in Albuquerque, NM. The married and raised six children and ran several Socorro businesses together and were active members of San Miguel Catholic Church.
Charlotte was a devoted Beta Sigma Phi sister for more than 50 years, bringing her daughters, daughters-in-law, granddaughters, great-granddaughters, and friends into the organization. She attained the highest degree of membership in the organization for her many years of service.  Charlotte was also active in the community, donating her time to boards and organizations. She was active in the Festival of the Cranes for several years and served on the Socorro County Chamber of Commerce and Socorro General Hospital boards.
Charlotte leaves behind a lovely legacy of wonderful friends and large family. She is survived by her children, Debbie DeMoss and husband, Chet, Denise Monette, Danny Monette, David Monette and wife, Patti, Darren Monette, and Donald Monette and wife, Pam; grandchildren, Tracy Fowler, Tristen Fowler, Travis Fowler (Brianna), Ernie Sichler IV (Stephanie), Craig Sichler, Rhiannon Crespin (Scotty), Cooper Monette, Danielle Monette, Casey Monette, Justin Monette, Dakotah Monette, Tucker Perdue, Ashton Monette, and Cadyn Monette; and great-grandchildren, Trenton Fowler, Taelene Fowler, Trinity Baca, Trey Baca, Jayden Fowler, Tamra Fowler, Tianna Fowler, McKenna Fowler, Ryan Crespin, and Drew Crespin. She is preceded in death by her husband, Chuck Monette; daughter-in-law, Marliss Monette; granddaughter, Tammy Fowler; sister, Pauline "Babe" Barker; and brother, Fred Lackey.
Visitation will take place Monday, October 16, 2017, from 5:00 pm-6:00 pm at  Daniels Family Funeral Services - Socorro Chapel, 309 Garfield St, Socorro. The Holy Rosary will be recited on Tuesday, October 17, 2017, at 9:30 am at San Miguel Catholic Church, 403 El Camino Real , Socorro with the Mass of Resurrection to follow at 10:00 am.  Celebrant Father Andrew Pavlak.  Burial will take place at San Miguel Catholic Cemetery.  Pallbearers will be  Ernie Sichler, Craig Sichler, Travis Fowler, Cooper Monette, Scotty Crespin, Tucker Perdue, and Cadyn Monette.  Honorary pallbearers are Trenton Fowler, Jayden Fowler, and Trey Baca.  In lieu of flowers donations may be given in Charlotte's honor to the Beta Sigma Phi Scholarship Fund, 69 Midway Rd, Lemitar, NM 87823.
