Glen Allen Linley

February 9, 1953 — May 14, 2021

Glen Allen Linley, 68, beloved husband and father, passed away suddenly and peacefully on May 14th 2021, doing what he loved, hiking.

Glen was born on February 9th, 1953 to Carroll and Norma Linley in Las Cruces, NM. He graduated from Las Cruces High School in 1971 where he was a competitive athlete on the wrestling team. After high school he attended NMSU and joined the National Guard. He then started working at UPS where he met his wife Meryl Durkin and they were married in 1977.  They have two children, Vanessa Martinez and Mike Linley.  Glen and Meryl shared 43 wonderful years together, were inseparable and enjoyed doing everything together.

Glen had a successful career working as a manager/supervisor in several western states in the transportation/freight business for over 30 years.  Glen was honest, honorable, goal driven and had strong values for himself and his family.  He was extremely proud of his children and their accomplishments and mentioned that often.  His family meant more to him than anything else and he was most happy spending time with them.

Glen has always enjoyed the outdoors and nature and after a long career of fast paced work and many challenges he was able to retire. He was always ready to go hiking, hunting or camping and spending time with family and friends.  He enjoyed traveling to new places with the family and was always practicing his Spanish. Spoiling his grandchildren as much as possible was always top on the list.  He enjoyed the simple things in life, tried to make everyone feel special and was always there for his family and friends.

Glen is survived by his wife Meryl, his daughter Vanessa and Carlos Martinez, his son Michael and Michelle Lucero, his three grandchildren Renesmae, Gioncarlo and Addison and his honorary grandchildren Winston and Serenity. Glen was preceded in death by his father, Carroll Linley and is survived by his mother, Norma Linley, his brother, Larry (Jackie) Linley, his sister, Carolyn (Bruce) Sherman and his sister Susan (Curtis) Rantz and many nieces and nephews.

Glen will be tremendously missed.  We will miss his joy, laughter, humor and love.
