Naomi Shafer

December 30, 1918 — September 11, 2012

Shafer, Naomi Age 93, of Albuquerque passed away on September 11, 2012. She was born on December 30, 1918 at Hunters Station, PA to Fred and Resta Bingaman. A graduate of Susquehanna University in Selinsgrove, PA, Naomi taught reading and coached basketball. She married Kenneth Kinney in 1942. He preceded her in death in 1980. She married Ray Shafer in 1988. He preceded her in death in 2005. Naomi is survived by her son, Ken and daughter-in-law Donna; and step daughter, Nancy. Naomi and her husband Ken were instrumental in starting the docent program at the Indian Pueblo Cultural Center. After 33 years of volunteering at the IPCC, she was honored for her service in 2009. Services will be held on Saturday, September 15, 2012 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Luke's Lutheran Church, 9100 Menaul NE, Albuquerque, NM. In lieu of flowers donations may be given in Naomi's honor to the Indian Cultural Center, St. Luke's Lutheran Church or Vista Care Hospice. Daniels Family Funeral Services
