Aaron Nathan Gonzales

January 22, 1975 — October 10, 2025

Socorro, New Mexico

Aaron N. Gonzales, age 50, passed away peacefully surrounded by family on October 10, 2025, after a courageous battle with cancer. Aaron was born on January 22, 1975, in Socorro, New Mexico to Philip Gonzales and Jennie (Montano) Gonzales. Aaron is preceded in death by his brother, Leandro Gonzales. Aaron is survived by his parents, loving wife Linda (Cole) Gonzales, their two children Aaron Gonzales Jr. and Nicolas Gonzales, sisters Verna (Leroy) Lucero and Lisa (Ruben) Peralta, brothers Patrick Gonzales and Paul Gonzales, many nieces and nephews, and many other family members and friends who became family.

Aaron worked tirelessly to provide for his family. He spent 20 years at Aerojet before joining the crew at New Mexico Tech as Assistant Director of Building Maintenance and Carpentry in 2019. He was known and loved by all who worked alongside him. Aaron oversaw countless projects, both big and small, ensuring his positive contributions were visible across the entire NMT physical environment.

Aaron’s work ethic was matched only by his love of family and friends. His free time was filled with cookouts, working on his vehicles and pitching in to help on projects for others. He was the friend who would show up when you needed a hand or a good laugh. He cheered on his favorite team, the Pittsburgh Steelers, on Sundays. Aaron was an avid outdoorsman who found great joy and peace in camping, hunting and fishing.

Aaron’s biggest accomplishments were his two children. Aaron Jr. and Nico were his pride and joy. He loved to tell stories about all the wonderful things his sons were doing both professionally and personally. Their lives have been immeasurably brighter because of him.

Aaron was known for his big heart, infectious laugh and unwavering kindness. He made every room brighter and made a lasting impact on everyone he met. His memory will live on forever in our hearts and his love and devotion to his family and friends will always be cherished.
