Adela C de Baca

Adela (Wagner) C de Baca died peacefully at her home in Corrales, New Mexico on September 11th of 2021 at the age of 92.

Adela is survived by her sister Mariana Swann of Tucson, AZ, her son Leonard C de Baca of El Paso, TX, her son David C de Baca of Corrales, NM, her son Daniel C de Baca of Corrales, NM, her son Samuel C de Baca of Corrales, NM, her son Manuel and his wife Sandra Cabeza de Baca of Corrales, NM, by her Grandchildren Lawrence Cde Baca, Kathy and husband David Freeman, Darlene and husband Bardo Moreno, Christina C de Baca, Christopher C de Baca, Celina and husband Tyler Swartz, Anthony C de Baca and Francesca C de Baca, by her Great-Grandchildren O’ahi-Makani Freitas, Solomon Torres, Zane Moreno, Tristan Moreno, Hazel Swartz and by her Great-great Grandchild Jonathan Freeman. She is preceded in death by her parents Trenidad (Sanchez) and Agustin Wagner Sr., her husband Manuel V. C de Baca, her sister Mary De Baca, her sister Sophie Martinez, her sister Eva Cordova, her brother Agustin Wagner Jr. and by her Great-grandsons Jonathan and Daniel Freeman.

Adela was born to Trenidad (Sanchez) Wagner and Agustin Wagner in Corrales, New Mexico on August 16th, 1929. Adela attended Bernalillo High school and was apart of their school choir. At 21 she married her sweetheart Manuel V. C de Baca October 27th, 1950 in the Historic Old San Ysidro Church. They lived happily married for 32 years and had five children. Adela was a devoted to homemaking and her family for over 71 years.

Special interests of Adela’s included going to church, choral singing, working on the farm with her sisters as a farmhand and later on as a cashier, and looked forward to getting her hair done by Nancy Wright, her hairdresser of forty years. Adela was also an active member of the San Ysidro Catholic Church.

The family would like to make a special thank you to her hospice nurses Erica Guardiola and Karen Kelso, to Pastor Jim McGowan, to Chaplain Michelle, to Nancy Wright and to Jaylene Trujillo for her kindness and extra effort in contributing to her happiness.

A Mass will be held at San Ysidro Catholic Church in Corrales, New Mexico on Saturday October 9th, 2021 beginning at 10:00AM, a Reception will follow in the San Ysidro Parish Hall.

 Burial will take place at Santa Fe National Cemetery Wednesday October 13th, 2021 at 3:00PM.
