Obituary

It is with deep sorrow we announce the passing of Alan McPherson Gould, age 95, on July 31, 2026.

Alan was born on January 16,1931 to George and Elsie Gould, in Manchester, Connecticut.

Alan received his draft notice and enlisted in the United States Marine Corps. In the early 1950's, he served

proudly for three years with the 6th Regiment, 2nd Marine Division. After returning home, Alan attended

Bryant Business College in Providence, R.I. It was during this time that he met his future wife, Barbara LaVoy.

Alan and Barbara were married June 15, 1957. They recently celebrated their 69th wedding anniversary.

Alan moved his family from Connecticut to Carlsbad NM, then to Fresno CA and eventually to Albuquerque

in the mid-1960's. Alan's career was in advertising / sales starting in Connecticut at WNIF continuing with local

media stations KDEF, KGGM (KRQE) and Magic 99.5.

During retirement, Alan kept busy with many projects and adventures. He continued sailing, traveled within

the states and to various countries, and was an avid skier well into his 80's. He was voted most artistic in high

school and that talent shined, particularly in his later years where he enjoyed painting with oil on canvas.

Alan was a wonderful and giving husband, father, grandfather, brother and uncle who will be missed. He is

survived by his wife Barbara, daughters Debra Cushman (Loren) and Cyndi Guthridge (Craig), son Scott Gould,

sister Marilyn Towe, nephew Russell Anamizu, 10 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren and two great, great

grandchildren.

We'd like to express our appreciation to BeeHive Homes and Roadrunner Hospice for their excellent care and

compassion.

Isaiah 40:31

" But those who wait on the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings like

eagles, they should run and not be weary, they shall walk and not faint".
