Albert G. Paynich

PAYNICH -- Albert G. Paynich, 92 year old, passed away peacefully at his home on November 24, 2010. A veteran of WWII, he proudly served on the European theater. Ever faithful, he was an active member of Fellowship Harvest Assembly of God, the American Legion and John Birch societies. Born to John and Louise Chopp Paynich, he was born near Calumet MI on April 23, 1918, and moved to Bisbee, AZ shortly before the war. He married Margaret Jones, a Bisbee native, during the war, and they had one son, Allan. After his wife died in 1963, he married Laurel Avery Diehl, of Bisbee. An electrician for 42 years in Phelps Dodge copper mines in Bisbee & Tyrone, NM, Albert retired to this area 17 years ago. He is survived by Laurel, Allan, and three step-daughters: Lucy Ann of NM, Marian Otis and Janet Powell of Phoenix. Visitations will be Wednesday, December 1, 2010 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 pm at Daniels Family Funeral Services- Alameda Mortuary. Funeral Services will be conducted Thursday, December 2, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. at the Harvest Fellowship, 5331 Montano Rd., NW. Interment will follow at Santa Fe National Cemetery at 2:30p.m. In lieu of flowers Memorial Contributions may be made to the American Legion or your favorite charity.
