Albert Schachtner

Albert (Al) Schachtner, 84, was granted his angel wings on April 12, 2010. He was born in Beaverdam, Wisconsin in 1925. He moved his family to Albuquerque, NM in 1963. Al always accomplished anything he set his mind to. He was a very soft spoken, kind and gentle soul. He served in the United States Army from 1950 to 1957 and later became a custom home builder in Albuquerque for 47 years. He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Marilyn and six children: Gail Finley, Joan Frisch, Dawn Seely, Alan Schachtner, Joyce Woodard, Dean Schachtner, thirteen grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. He was a prominent member of the Sangre De Cristo Catholic Church, St. Vincent De Paul Society and was instrumental in the development of the Medjugorie Center in Albuquerque. Al loved to fish, camp, sing, and play many musical instruments. His family requests that in lieu of flowers donations are sent to Vista Care Hospice Inpatient Unit, 5639 Jefferson St. NE, Albuquerque, NM 87109. We will miss him dearly.
