72, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, June 30, 2015 with her loving family at her side. She was born in Tucumcari, NM on October 5, 1942 to John Ralph and Martha Louise Bonds. Alberta was a resident of the Socorro area for many years. She grew up on the Bell and Spade ranches. Alberta earned her Bachelor's degree from NM State and was a teachers aide for the Socorro Consolidated Schools. She retired after 20 years of service. Alberta was a member, Cultural arts co-chair, and historian of the NM State Extension club and also the Cultural Arts Chair of the Socorro Extension Club. She belonged to the Extension club for over 15 years and also enjoyed the garden and sew clubs. Alberta once held the title of Socorro County Fair Queen. She was preceded in death by her beloved parents; her brothers, John Bonds; and Dougie Bonds; and her infant son, Clayton. Alberta is survived by her devoted husband of 47 years, Marvin Dean Meadows; her children, Cheryl Meadows, Randy Meadows; and Edith Meadows Armijo and husband, Ernest; her loving granddaughter, Emilia; her step father, Jim Bonds; and her sister, Jerry McClain and husband, Earl. Alberta will also be greatly missed by her nieces, nephews, cousins, other loving family members, and close friends. As were Alberta's wishes, cremation has taken place and no formal services are scheduled at this time. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations or contributions may be given in Alberta's honor to the Extension Club Scholarship fund.
