Alejo Gabriel Vigil, 40, of Albuquerque, beloved father, son, brother, and friend, passed away on November 22, 2025, at Presbyterian Hospital in Albuquerque, NM. He left behind a legacy of love, resilience, and quiet strength. Born in Santa Fe, NM, on June 8, 1985, Alejo lived a life defined by hard work, generosity, and deep devotion to those he cared for.
Alejo was known for his steady presence and the way he could make others feel safe just by entering any room. He approached life with humility, humor, and a big heart, and was always willing to lend a hand or offer a kind word. To his family, he was a source of comfort, guidance, and unconditional love.
As a father, Alejo was deeply devoted to his daughter. He took immense pride in raising his beloved daughter Erin, finding his greatest joy in the moments they shared, whether it be stories, laughter, guidance, or simply being together. His love will continue to shape her life in ways words can barely describe.
Alejo is survived by his daughter Erin Vigil, sister Sophia Vigil, mom Caryn Vigil, and dad Wilfredo Vigil, who will hold his memories close and honor the lessons he quietly taught through the way he lived. His legacy will live on through his loved ones. Alejo is preceded in death by his grandmother Estelle DeMare.
Services for Alejo will be held on December 11, 2025, at 11 a.m. at Daniels Family Funerals & Cremation–Southern Chapel in Rio Rancho, NM. Family and friends are invited to gather as we share memories and honor a man whose impact will be felt for years to come. A celebration of life will be held at a later date, with more details to come.
Alejo will be fondly remembered for his strength, kindness, and his unfailing warmth toward others. His absence will be felt profoundly.
