September 11, 1933 – December 24, 2023

Fred G. Bauer, 90 years young peacefully passed away at home with family around, to be with his wife, Margie F. Bauer of 62 years of marriage on December 24th.  Fred began work at Sandia National Laboratories when he was 17. At 20 he enlisted in the United States Air Force. His service began at the end of the Korean War and continued for four years. Upon leaving the military he returned to Sandia and continued his work until retiring in 1985 after 33 years of outstanding service. Fred was a member of the First Church of Christ Scientist. Fred’s love for God, family, country, Christian Science, and serving in the church was exemplified through loyalty, unselfish service, love, humility, courage, and compassion. Fred also gave back while serving as block captain of the neighborhood, keeping a watchful eye on the neighborhood, and making sure all was well. 

Fred leaves behind his five children; Fred Bauer (Donna) of Albuquerque, Debi Wilcox (Bud) of Albuquerque, Barbara Bauer (Gary Sedillo) of Moriarty, Susan Shelton of Albuquerque, and Pamela Bauer (Darci Knobel) of Jacksonville, Oregon.  Extended family includes grandchildren, Amanda Bauer (Judson) and Stephen Bauer (Marissa), Deanna Trujillo (Jody) and Kristen Hatch (Shawn), Maryjane Gold and Royce Bass (Jessica), Eric Bauer (Astacia), Brenda Koehn (Michael), Shannon Shelton (Jamie), Shawn Stewart, and Stephanie Stewart, and many great-grandchildren. 

There will be no memorial service. With all the loving memories built over the years, Fred will be greatly missed but never forgotten!
