Begay was born November 23, 1938 in Red Rock, New Mexico and died April 27, 2010 in Rock Rock, New Mexico. She was 71. She was born for the Black Streak of the Forest Clan into the Salt Clan. She enjoyed making Native Arts and crafts and was a well-known member of her community at Red Rock, NM. .She was a fan of Dallas Cowboy and Los Angeles Lakes as well as Ft. Wingate High School, where her grandchildren played sports. Her favorite cheer for them was “yeego Shush yeego” Survivors include four sons Thomas Yazzie, Jones Yazzie, Zachary Begay of Red Rock, Alvin Begay of Iyanbito, New Mexico. A daughter Victoria Long of Red Rock, New Mexico 23 grandchildren 7 great grandchildren. Four brothers David Keemann of Red Rock, New Mexico. Tom Begay of Twin Buttes, New Mexico, Richard Begay Red Rock, New Mexico and Ernest Begay of Phoenix, Arizona. A sister Irene Dixon of Rehoboth, New Mexico. Pallbearers are Thomas Yazzie Jr, Brandon Yazzie, Tristan Yazzie, Leroy Yazzie Jr, Alvin Begay Jr., and Curtis Long. Arrangements entrusted to: Cope Memorial Chapel 1830 Barbara Gallup, New Mexico
