Alicia Carol Tomlinson, a luminous spirit and beloved member of her community, ascended to the heavens on April 16, 2025, in Albuquerque, New Mexico. Born on December 27, 1975, in Riverside, California, Alicia lived her life as a testament to the beauty that can emerge from complexity. All can find comfort knowing that Alicia went home to be with her Savior and has reunited with her departed mother (Diane Horton), father (Kent Dixon), and sister (Michele Johnson).
Her journey began at Garden Grove High School, where she graduated in 1994. A lifelong learner, Alicia furthered her education at Franklin Medical College in Albuquerque, achieving a Certification as a Medical Assistant in 2002. Her passion for service led her to the US Forest Service, where she dedicated six years of her life to protecting and nurturing the natural world, ultimately earning the respected position of Temporary Lead of her group.
Alicia's personality was a radiant mosaic, each piece reflecting her unique blend of shyness and profound warmth. To know her was to discover a woman who, while often reserved, could envelop a gathering with her sincere and engaging conversation. Friends and family will remember her as someone who carried a bright smile—a beacon of positivity that illuminated even the darkest days. She believed wholeheartedly that happiness and joy are choices, and she chose the brighter side of life every single day.
An ardent member of the Disney Bounders organization and a supportive presence at Sagebrush Church, Alicia nurtured her passions and shared them with those around her. Her hobbies, including cross stitching, knitting, and scrapbooking, provided her not only with personal fulfillment but also with delightful ways to connect with others, creating tangible expressions of her love and creativity.
Alicia is survived by her cherished husband, Michael Tomlinson, and their loving son, Jonethan Cleaver. She is also remembered fondly by her brother, Ethan Dixon, his wife, Jessica; and her nephews, Asher, Dexter, and Jasper. And her feline companion, Rose. These family members carry her light forward, each touched by her remarkable resilience and joy.
Alicia will be dearly missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her, especially those who found solace and safety in her presence. Though she has departed from this earth, the warmth of her spirit will continue to inspire and uplift those whose lives she graced. As we reflect on her life, let us celebrate the choices she made and the love she shared, carrying forward the lessons of happiness and connection that she imparted so effortlessly.
