Obituary

Alma Lenz, age 97, passed away on October 18, 2026, at the Beehive Home of Edgewood in Edgewood, New Mexico.

Born on December 24, 1928, in Moosup, Connecticut, Alma was the daughter of Charles Grenier and Mary (Dorflilnger) Grenier. At an early age, she left school to help support her family by working as a weaver in a textile mill in Moosup.

Alma met her future husband, Charles H. Lenz, while he was serving in the United States Navy. The two married in 1951 and eventually moved to Cincinnati, Ohio. During their years in Ohio, Alma primarily devoted herself to being a homemaker and occasionally worked in retail. Eventually, Alma and Charles made their way to Rio Rancho, New Mexico, where they enjoyed their retirement years together.

Alma was preceded in death by her parents, Charles Grenier and Mary (Dorflilnger) Grenier; her beloved husband, Charles H. Lenz; and her brother, Alfred C. Grenier.

She is survived by her son, Michael C. Lenz, and his wife, Deborah M. Lenz; her daughter, Cheryl Meyer, and her husband, Terry Meyer; her grandchildren, Michael C. Lenz II, Amy M. Lenz, and Tiffany Meyer; and her great-grandchildren, Jakob Lenz, Gabriella Lenz, and Faith Lenz.

The family extends a special thank you to the staff of the Memory Care Unit at the Beehive Home of Edgewood in Edgewood, New Mexico, for the exceptional love, compassion, and care they provided to Alma during the final five and a half years of her battle with dementia. Their kindness and dedication brought comfort to Alma and her family during this time.

Alma will be remembered for her dedication to her family, her hard work, and the life she shared with those she loved. She will be dearly missed by her family and all who knew her.
