Obituary

Amy Lynn Gagne, age 49, got her wings and went home to be with the Lord on March 19, 2026. She was born in Albuquerque, New Mexico October 31, 1976, where she spent her whole life.

Amy was a wonderful wife, mother, daughter and friend. She embodied the best of qualities: strength of spirit and an unending unconditional love, caring and generosity that could be felt by her family and friends. She always made everyone smile and feel like they were her best friend. Everyone she met loved her!

Amy went to Cibola High school where she was a member of the drill team. She was a wonderful ballet dancer and was the doll in the stage performance and traveling troupe of The Nutcracker. In later years, Amy was a nail tech and esthetician and loved interacting with her clients. She also obtained her Medical Assistant certification which she put to good use taking care of her grandfather (Pops). She deeply enjoyed being a part of the motorcycle community where she made numerous friends. She was also Mrs. New Mexico promoting her platform of motorcycle awareness and profiling.

Most important to Amy was her family. Her husband Marty was her true sole mate. They loved each other unconditionally through good times and bad. Her children Colby, Isaiah, and Jenni were her pride and joy. She loved being a part of their lives and worried about them constantly. Her little kids her Poodle Sophie, her Maltese Ari, and her Shih Tzu Chloey were her whole world. They provided much needed comfort and love to both Amy and Marty. They loved curling up in her lap to take their morning naps. Amy’s parents and siblings were such an important part of her life as well. She stayed in close contact with them. She and her mother Linda were best friends and talked to each other every day.

Amy and Marty took excellent care of her grandfather (Pops) for the last 2 ½ years of his life until he passed away in 2023. She was extremely close to him and her grandmother who passed in 1999. Pops could not have received more loving and exemplary care than he received in their home. When getting him ready for bed, she would always get Pops to sing “Why not me by the Judds” or “She’ll be comin’ round the mountain” with her. They would laugh and kiss each other goodnight. We will always be eternally grateful for the care he received from them.

Amy had several serious health issues including lupus, fibromyalgia, and at times severe depression for the past several years. She was in pain both physically and mentally on an almost daily basis. Still, she would put one step in front of another and keep on going.

Amy was preceded in death by her son Isaiah and her grandparents. She is survived by her husband Marty Gagne, her son Colby Hill and wife Karlie, her daughter Jenni Rusk and fiance Tevin, her pups Sophi, Ari, and Chloe, her mother Linda Ferguson and husband Wade, and her father Martin Marshall and wife Mary, her siblings and many friends.

Amy was and is a true blessing in all our lives. She left us beautiful memories that we will cherish. She is now our guardian angel always watching over us. Rest in peace our beautiful baby girl. Loving you always until we meet again.

Services will be held Thursday, April 2, 2026, 11:00 AM, Daniels Family Funeral Services - Sara Chapel, 4310 Sara Rd SE, Rio Rancho, NM 87124.
