Andrew Begay Funeral services for Andrew A. Begay, 52, were 10 a.m., today, June 8, at Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church, Chinle. The Rev. Blane Grein, OFM officiated. Burial was in Chinle Community Cemetery. Visitation was 9 a.m. Begay died June 3, 2010, in Chinle. He was born Feb. 15, 1958, in Ganado, into the Bitter Water People Clan for the Red Bottom People Clan. Begay graduated from Chinle High School. His hobbies included helping elders with repairing homes, minor electrical work, plumbing, chopping wood and other home chores. Survivors include his mother, Rose Francis Begay; brother, Phillip T. Begay; sisters, Rose Marie Guy, Mary T. Burbank, Carol T. Begay, Rosita Cisco. Begay was preceded in death by his father, Alfred T. Begay Sr.; brothers, Allen T. Begay, Alfred T. Begay Jr., Herman T. Begay, Larry T. Begay. Pallbearers were family members. The family received relatives and friends at Rose Francis Begay’s residence, following services.
