Anita "Aye" Clemens

Anita "Aye" Louise Clemens,

Beloved mother, grandmother, sister and friend left this world on Wednesday, April 25, 2018.  She touched so many with her love of life and love for her son and grandchildren. She was a proud native of Taos Pueblo, NM and was born on January 23, 1954, to Augustine and Marie Marcus Trujillo.

She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, John Trujillo; and nephew, Chris Day.

Anita is survived by her son, Littlewolf John, daughter-in-law Danielle, grandson, Sebastian Clemens, granddaughter, Consuelo Clemens, brother, Joe T. sisters, Ethel, Martha, & Rose and longtime companion, Scott Reid.  Anita loved her furry grand babies who loved her visits, especially her favorite, Buddy who showed his love by sitting on her lap to help her feel better.

Anita received her beloved name of “Aye” from her grandson Sebastian.  She would say to him, “come here” in Tiwa, her native language (A-Aye).  So, when Sebastian began to speak he called her Aye, which became her name to her grandchildren and other family members.

Anita loved all things of her Native American culture.  She attended feast days at many pueblos and enjoyed going to the Gathering of Nations Pow Wow each year.  She had a love for art and her culture and making fresh tortillas for her grandchildren. Her greatest love was her son, John.  She was so proud of him and his accomplishments and her love had no boundaries. Her love will last long after she is gone.

Anita moved to Rio Rancho a couple of years ago and she lived at Vista Grande Adult Community and made many friends there who she spoke of often.  She loved her church family too and her time with Father Ed.

We will celebrate Anita’s life on Monday, April 30, 2018 from 10:30 AM at Daniels Family Funeral/Sara Road Chapel 4310 Sara Road, Rio Rancho, NM. Service and Interment to Immediately follow.
