Anita Edmon

Edmon, Anita Age 88, passed away Monday, November 21, 2011. She was born on April 21, 1923 to Zack and Juanita Parker, in Mineola, TX. Anita was a longtime resident of the South Broadway neighborhood, she was instrumental in developing jobs for young people, neighborhood improvements, helping the poor and establishing a strong spiritual community. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Cleo Curtis Nickols and son, Curtis Nickols. Anita is survived by sons, Herbert Edmon, Jr. and wife, Barbara, Phil Edmon and wife, Alane; daughters, Camilla Lee and husband, Don, Vala Myrl Tillman and husband, Frank, Bertha Epperson and husband, Bob, Mary Anita Wren, Louise Edmon, Cyrette Edmon. Visitation will be held Sunday, November 27, 2011, from 4:00 pm to 9:00 pm at Macedonia Baptist Church , 1509 Edith Blvd SE. Service will be held on Monday, November 28, 2011, 11:00 am, at Shiloh Baptist Church, 608 Avenida Caesar Chavez SE. Interment to follow at Fairview Memorial Park.
