Age 90, passed away Saturday, December 26, 2015 at her home in Socorro, NM. She was born in Brezje pri Dobrovi, Slovenia on August 24, 1925, to Aloijz and Marija (Suhadolc) Podobnikar. In 1954 Anka married Peter Rogelj and practiced as a pediatric nurse before the family immigrated to Columbus, OH in 1970. Anka moved to Socorro in 2012 to be close to her daughter and grandchildren. Strength, independence, generosity, faith and sweetness carried her through all the changes of the 20th century. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her. She was preceded in death by her husband, Peter in 2010; her parents; and three siblings. Anka is survived by daughter, Snezna Rogelj of Socorro; son, Dusan Rogelj of Ljubljana, Slovenia; two siblings, Lojzka Herodez and Martin Podobnikar; five grandchildren on two continents; and countless friends.
