Anna Maxine (Randolph) Schroeder, 85, of Farmington, died Thursday, May 6, 2010. She was born Oct. 28, 1924, in Porum, OK., to Fred and Lena May King Randolph.
Anna grew up in Las Animas, CO. where she graduated from Bent County High School. She received an associate of arts degree from Arapahoe Community College.
On Valentines's Day of 1944, she married Robert Wesley Schroeder, a newly commissioned officer in the United States Air Corps.
After the war, Bob received a bachelor of science degree in electrical engineering from Colorado State University. The couple then began their nomadic life with Stanoline Oil and Gas Company, now BP.
Anna was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Schroeder Sr.; her parents; two brothers, Fred Randolph Jr. and Robert Harrison Randolph; a sister, Margaret Elizabeth Randolph; and a half-sister, Dorthy Randolph Schoeppey.
Anna and Bobe had five children, Robert Wesley Schroeder, Jr. who died in 1965, at age 20, in a climbing accident on Shiprock, Nicholas Cole Schroeder (Cathie), Kathryn Ann Schroeder Anderson, Gretchen Louise Schroeder Moon (John) and Mary Elizabeth Schroeder Bacon. They have six grandchildren, Daniel Gregory Schroeder and Lianne Elizabeth Schroeder, Reagan Anderson Pena (Oscar) and Caitlin Anderson Crawford 9Mick), Adam Lee Bacon and Amber Nicolle Bacon. Great-grandchildren include Cash abd Ava Crawford, Zen and Holder Pena, and Dustin DeArmond.
Private family services will be held later in the summer, along the Delores River, near Rico, CO. Anna's father had been a miner in Rico and she had very fond memories of that time.
