Anne Murray, beloved wife, mother, and grandmother, went to be with her Lord and Savior on January 31, 2019.
One of nine siblings, Anne was born in Bethlehem, New York on March 14, to Abdou and Mary Z. Bercharlie. She received her degree from Albany Business College, and then moved to Albuquerque in 1946 with her sister and worked at Standard Brands and Sandia Labs as an executive secretary. On March 3, 1949 she married James Manley Murray.
Anne was devoted to her two daughters and two sons, raising them to be kind, funny, and generous like her. Busy raising four children, she and Jim still found time for date nights and enjoyed going dancing at the Coronado Club. She loved music and was an avid reader; she learned to play the piano by ear and volunteered at her children’s elementary school library. In 1973, she became an Avon representative – her people skills and sales abilities were demonstrated by her substantial Avon figurine collection. Anne and Jim moved to Rio Rancho in 1986 and they became active members at San Ysidro Catholic Church. Anne loved traveling with friends, winning at penny slots and bingo, and preparing elaborate homemade meals for family.
Anne is survived by her husband James, brother George Bercharlie, children June Kerby (Dennis), Mark Murray (Karli), Brian Murray (Grace), and Peggy Langdon (Pat). Her memory is cherished by her eight grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren.
