Annie blessed her hometown with a dedication to family and faith that will remain unsurpassed. After graduating from Socorro High School in 1963, she began a 37-year career at the Socorro Electric Co-op. During her time there, she started serving as the Youth Group Director at San Miguel Mission. In 1993, she took a very excited bunch of teens to World Youth Day in Denver to see Pope John Paul II. While guiding the teens of her Parish, she would forever be known as Auntie Annie to all. One year after retiring from the Co-op, she began her faithful dedication to serving the Catholic church at San Miguel Mission. Annie served in every way she could because of her love for the Catholic faith. She was an administrator, a Eucharistic minister, a Mayordomo, lector, youth group director, and a confirmation instructor. As a result of her selfless devotion to the parish, she was honored with the St. Francis of Assisi Award by the Archdiocese of Santa Fe in 2002.
Children always filled Auntie Annie’s home and heart. Her nephews, nieces, great- and great-great nephews and nieces, as well as her godchildren meant the world to her. The love she had for them and the love they had for her will endure for generations to come.
Please join the family as Annie receives her final Sacrament at San Miguel Mission on Wednesday, May 21, 2025. The rosary will begin at 9:30 am with the mass to follow. Annie will be laid to rest at the San Miguel Catholic Cemetery.
