Anthony Candelaria, age 70, passed away peacefully on August 28, 2025, in Albuquerque, New Mexico. He was born on April 29, 1955, in Albuquerque to his parents Mary R. Candelaria and Benito Candelaria.
Anthony was a proud graduate of Albuquerque High School, Class of 1973. He was a devoted member of San Ignacio Catholic Church, where he served faithfully as an usher for many years.
In his free time, Anthony enjoyed fishing and camping, especially with family. He was always willing to lend a helping hand and devoted much of his life to supporting and spending time with those he loved. Anthony touched many lives with his kindness, generosity, and warm spirit. He will be deeply missed and fondly remembered by all who knew him.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Mary and Benito Candelaria, and his brother Andres Candelaria.
Anthony is survived by his brother Benny Candelaria and wife Esmeralda of Albuquerque, his sister Rosemary Candelaria, his brother Jimmy Candelaria, as well as many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, and close friends.
A visitation will be held on Monday, September 8th from 8:30 AM to 9:30 AM at San Ignacio Catholic Church in Albuquerque, New Mexico, followed by a rosary from 9:30 AM to 10:00 AM. A funeral Mass will be held from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM. Graveside services will follow at 11:30 AM at Mount Calvary Cemetery. A reception will be held at San Ignacio Catholic Church following the graveside service.
Pallbearers will be Alex Candelaria, Jacob Candelaria Sr., Isaac Candelaria, Steven Candelaria, Christopher Candelaria, and Jacob Candelaria Jr.
Anthony’s life was a blessing, his memory a treasure. He is loved beyond words and will be missed beyond measure.
