Tony Kendrick, 79, of Aztec passed away at his home Thursday, Sept. 16, 2010. Tony attended Texas Western University and was a proud member of the Kappa Sigma fraternity. Upon graduating in 1964 with a bachelors in business administration, Tony served his country in the U.S. Air Force for four years during the Korean war. Honorably discharged from military duty, Tony worked overseas for the next thirteen years and there met his beloved wife, Patricia. The couple returned to the U.S., settling in Grand Junction, Colo., and raised their two boys, Mikel and Steven. During these years, Tony worked for Northwest Pipeline (1977-86) and assisted his father on the family ranch in his spare time. After his retirement, Tony continued in his fathers footsteps as a full-time rancher and caretaker of Kendrick Farms in Aztec. Tony enjoyed fast cars, faster hot rods and boats. A man of warmth, humor and firm integrity, Tony cherished above all his Christian values, his wife, his sons, and cherished friends and family. Tony was a strong, kind-hearted, honest and hardworking man who equally enjoyed a good laugh, a long conversation or a spirited debate. He is preceded in death by his parents Harvey and Rick (Hazel), his sister Betty and her husband. Tony is survived by his wife, Patricia, sons, Mikel H. Steven T. and a close nephew David Prestidge. Memorial services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 22, 2010, at Bailey and Howard Funeral Home, 105 Oak Street, Clyde Texas, 79510. Tony will be deeply missed by all.
