Obituary

Antonio Jaramillo, 78, of Socorro, NM, passed away on October 5, 2026, in his hometown surrounded by his loving family. He was born in Socorro on October 23, 1947. Antonio proudly served his country in the U.S. Army from 1966 to 1968. Following his military service, he dedicated 20 years of hard work as a heavy equipment operator and truck driver for the BNSF Railroad, where he was known by his colleagues for his strong work ethic and dependability. He is survived by his loving children Johnny Joe Jaramillo, Victoria Saldivar and her husband, Federico, Antonio Jaramillo III and his wife, Lori. He is also survived by his sisters Rose Sanchez and her husband, Canuto, and Barbara Jean Gonzales and her husband, Ted, and his 9 Grand children and 17 great-grand children. He was preceded in death by his loving wife of 42 years, Isabel Jaramillo(Chavez), Son Lawrence Jaramillo, father Antonio Jaramillo Sr, mother Virginia Jaramillo(Baca), sisters Marian Romero, Frances Benavidez, Dolores Lopez, Mary Baca, and brother Binny Jaramillo. Above all, Antonio cherished his family and took pride in the generations that grew from the life he built. His legacy is the family he leaves behind and the values he passed down through generations. His memory will live on in family gatherings, shared stories, loving and funny memories, and the traditions that will continue in his honor. Services for Antonio will be held at San Miguel Catholic Church in Socorro, NM on Wednesday October 21, 2026. Rosary at 10:30am with mass to follow. As we commend Antonio to the loving mercy of God, we take comfort in our faith and the promise of eternal life. May the Lord welcome him into His heavenly kingdom, grant him eternal rest, and let the perpetual light shine upon him. Though we mourn his absence here on earth, we trust that love never ends and that, through God’s grace, we will one day be reunited again. May he rest in peace. Amen
