Antonio Ray Martinez (TJ), age 47, passed away on August 7, 2025, in Albuquerque, New Mexico. Born on October 10, 1977, in Borger, Texas, TJ brought warmth and light into the lives of all who knew him.
A dedicated and skilled electrician, TJ was known for his tireless work ethic and resilience. He navigated challenging schedules and demanding environments with determination and integrity. He found great fulfillment in his most recent job—a place he considered a dream come true. Grateful for even the smallest blessings there, TJ approached his work with humility and pride.
TJ’s heart belonged to his family. He is survived by his beloved wife and best friend, Dezari Martinez; his cherished children, Lucius and Cambria Martinez; his devoted mother, Patricia Granger; his loving sister, Monica Trujillo, and her husband, Nathan Trujillo; his wonderful nieces and nephews, Synderelia, Valientino, Dominique, Noah Trujillo, and Olivia Nunez; his father, Antonio Martinez; his stepfather, Rene Valdez, and his wife, Claudia Valdez; many kind and loving aunts, uncles, and cousins; as well as his mother-, father-, and brother-in-law. He held deep love for them and found joy in the time they spent together. He was preceded in death by his grandmother, Carmen Lara Granger Magee, and cousin, Little Richard Granger—both of whom held special places in his heart.
A self-proclaimed nerd at heart, TJ found happiness in simple pleasures shared with those he loved. Whether playing video games and board games with his family or watching movies—especially one of his favorites, Dune—he treasured these moments of connection. His sharp mind delighted in solving math problems just for fun, a testament to both his intellect and playful spirit.
Those who knew TJ remember him as a ray of light during dark times. He treated everyone with kindness, respect, and genuine affection. Even when facing personal struggles, he never lost his sense of humor—always ready with a joke to lift someone’s spirits. His soft heart and unwavering love left an indelible mark on all who crossed his path.
TJ’s legacy is one of compassion, laughter, and enduring love. In honoring him, may we follow his example: treat others with grace, cherish our time together, and hold fast to the bonds that connect us.
