Arthur W. Potter, 84, of Flora Vista, died peacefully on Saturday,Jan.2, 2010, at San Juan Regional Medical Center, after a lengthy illness. Arthur was born Jan. 28, 1925, in Birmingham, England, to Arthur and Lily Potter. Arthur served in the British Army in World War II and was stationed in Palestine and Egypt. While stationed in Kempston England, he met Jill, who would become his wife. Arthur came to America in 1966 with his family and worked in the oilfied for 20 years. He enjoyed fishing and gardening. He is survived by Jill, his wife of 58 years; his daughter, Zona Potter of Aztec; and his son, Simon Potter of Japan. He is also survived by three granchildren, Raymond Shalley of Aztec, and Arthur and Emily Potter of Japan; and by six sisters and four brothers. Arthur's family would like to thank his doctors and all the nursing staff at SJRMC for their special care in his last days. He will be greatly missed. Cremation has taken place. Arthur had requested no service be held. A private family gathering will be held in his honor at a later time. Mr. Potter's care has been entrusted to:
