Arturo R. Trujillo

TRUJILLO, ARTURO R. " 79 " passed away surrounded by his loving family in song and prayer at his home in Rio Rancho, NM, on Sunday, May 8th, 2011. He was born in Llano-San Juan " Taos County, NM on October 21, 1931 to his parents: Virgilio and Tonita M. Trujillo. He proudly served his country in the US Army, Army Reserve and Navy Reserve for a total of 27 years. He retired as Staff Sergeant E6. He was on active duty during the Korean War and was a member of the VFW Post # 5890 in Rio Rancho. He was also a member of the Knights of Columbus Council #6696 in Rio Rancho. Arturo retired as a public school teacher from the Santa Fe Public Schools after 27 years of teaching in different school districts. He traveled to many areas of the world together with his family. He was predeceased by his parents; sister, Liza T. Garduno; brother-in-law, Emerson Garduno; brothers: Clovis and Gilbert Trujillo, and sister-in-law, Fannie Trujillo. He is survived by his loving wife of 54 years, Eleanor; his children, Diane (Steve) Holmberg of Winterpark, CO, and Derek Trujillo (Kayla) of Rio Rancho; his sister, Mary T. Mascarenas (Ambrose) from Llano, NM; grandchildren: TJ Wood from Winterpark, CO, Mathew and Jasmine Trujillo of Rio Rancho. Visitation is set for Wednesday May 11, 2011 from 4:30 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., followed by a Rosary recited by the family members at Daniels Family Funeral Service, 2400 Southern Blvd. SE, Rio Rancho, NM. Mass of the Resurrection will be held at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church on Sara Road in Rio Rancho on Thursday, May 12, 2011 at 11:30 a.m., followed by Internment at 2:15 p.m. at the Santa Fe National Cemetery, 501 N. Guadalupe St., Santa Fe, NM.
