TAPIA - Augustin G. Tapia ,age 85, of Albuquerque, beloved father, grandfather, great grandfather, brother and friend, passed away on Friday, September 17, 2010, while surrounded by his loving family. Born and raised in New Mexico, Mr. Tapia proudly served his country during World War II, in the 346th infantry company, United States Army. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Antonia Tapia; and son-in �?¯�?¿�?½�?¯�?¿�?½“law, Richard Lucero. Augustin is survived by his loving children, Tillie Lucero, Charlotte (Raymond) Thomen, Larry (Isabel) Tapia and Leonard (Norma) Tapia; grandchildren, Richard Lucero, Carmelita Lucero, Alicia Tapia, Abran Tapia (Margo Padilla) and Gabriela Tapia; great grandchildren, Isabel Gurule and Scarlet Tapia; sisters, Eva (Raymond) Casias and Eleanor Barreras. He will be greatly missed by his family and by those whose hearts he touched. Visitations will be today (Tuesday) from 6:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Nativity of Blessed Virgin Mary Church, where a Rosary will be recited at 7:00 p.m. Final Viewing will be Wednesday morning from 8:00 a.m. to 8:30 a.m. in the Chapel of Daniels Family Funeral Services-Alameda Mortuary. Service of Christian Burial will be Wednesday at 9:00 a.m. at Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary Church. Interment will follow at Vista Verde Memorial Park, in Rio Rancho. Casket Bearers will be Ron Gutierrez, Albert Barreras, Richard Lucero, Mark Casias, David Mendoza, and Richard Jojola. Honorary Bearers will be Leo Griego and Bill Manning. The family would like to express their sincere appreciation to those who helped care for Mr. Tapia with compassion during his illness, especially Vista Care Hospice and their Staff.
