JOANNE POWELL Joanne Powell, 66, of Farmington passed from this life Thursday, June 10, 2010. Ms. Powell was born June 12, 1943, in Cortez, CO to John Taylor and Ava C. Minkler. She graduated from Durango High School and moved to San Juan County in 1965. Joanne worked as an assistant for Dr. Volkerding as well as Coleman Oil and Gas and Key Energy Services. Joanne’s parents and brother, John, predeceased her. She is survived by her daughter, Rhonda Young and husband, Thomas; a sister, Betty Howard, three grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. A Graveside Memorial Service for Ms. Powell will be Saturday, July 10, 2010 at 11:00 am at Memory Gardens Cemetery with Tim Castillo officiating. Interment will immediately follow.
