Bart Harland Danford, a cherished husband, father, grandfather, and friend, passed away on May 13, 2025, at the remarkable age of 95 in Albuquerque, New Mexico. Born in Kansas, Bart's journey through life was one marked by dedication, passion, and an unwavering love for his family and nature.
After completing his Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Wichita, Bart served with distinction in the United States Air Force as a Lieutenant, excelling in his role as an Air Traffic Controller. His commitment to education led him to earn a Doctorate of Philosophy from The University of Houston in 1964. Following this achievement, Bart devoted his career to teaching, sharing his knowledge and experience in Behavioral Sciences at the University of Houston Galveston, Arkansas Children's Hospital, and the University of Arkansas Medical Sciences Department of Family Medicine, as well as the Area Health Education Center in Pine Bluff, Arkansas.
In 2001, Bart and his beloved wife, Sharon, fulfilled a lifelong dream by relocating and settling in Placitas, New Mexico where the couple explored every scenic nook and cranny of the beautiful state together. Bart found immense joy as a tour guide at the Valles Caldera in Jemez Springs, dedicating three vibrant summers to showing visitors the breathtaking beauty of the area.
Bart loved nature and the outdoors, particularly duck hunting in Arkansas every year.
Bart was well loved and leaves to celebrate his life his wife Sharon, son Kurt Danford (Debbie), daughter Sarah Walker (Joe) and daughter Wendy Hammer (Jeff), four grandchildren and several great grandchildren.
Family visitation will take place on June 1 at 3:00 PM at Daniels Funeral Home on Wyoming Blvd.
