Beatrice A. Mirabal passed away peacefully on March 23, 2022 in Albuquerque, NM at the age of 73.
Bea is survived by her “Sonny Boy” Joseph Moreno of Bernalillo, NM; Godson Matthew Couch of Edgewood, NM; and Goddaughter Miranda Baldonado of Albuquerque, NM. She is also survived by sister Alice Aguilar of Bernalillo, NM; sister Martha Mirabal of Albuquerque, NM; sister Cordy Moreno and husband, Benny Moreno of Bernalillo, NM; sister Debbie Mirabal of Albuquerque, NM; brother Benito Mirabal of Bernalillo, NM; brother Ray Mirabal and wife Sandy Mirabal of Bernalillo, NM; and brother Richie Acosta and wife Beverly Acosta of Los Lunas, NM. Bea also had many nephews, nieces, great-nephews and nieces, great great nephews and nieces, relatives and friends that she loved very much. She is preceded in death by her mother Liliosa Gallegos, father Benito Mirabal, brothers-in-law Mike Aguilar, Johnny Baldonado, and Jimmy Munoz, sister-in-law Donna Mirabal, and nephew Patrick Aguilar.
Bea was born to Benito and Liliosa on April 8, 1948 in the Bosque of Bernalillo, NM. She graduated from Bernalillo High School and worked for Congressman Manuel Lujan in Washington, D.C. for approximately 20 years. She eventually returned to her beloved New Mexico, working for the State Land Office in Santa Fe for a number of years. Upon her retirement, Aunty Bea enjoyed being with her family, fishing, camping, wine tasting, watching telenovelas and old western movies, and meeting with friends for lunch. She especially loved Joseph’s dog, Bud. As the family historian, Aunty Bea had many stories to tell and even more pictures to take. We will miss her dearly.
