Benedict (Ben) Baca of Old Town, Albuquerque, New Mexico, died on Oct. 3, 2026.

Ben was born on December 18, 1958, in Albuquerque to John and Odelia Baca.

Ben was a graduate of Albuquerque High and more recently retired from the Archdiocese of Santa Fe as the grounds and maintenance man. He loved going on walks and bike rides around Old Town, making different wood projects, and spending quality time with his family. Ben was very loved by many, and he loved everyone; many friends became family.

He was preceded in death by his brothers Richard (Ricky) and Gerald, his father John, and his son John Baca.

He is survived by his wife Mary Baca; daughter Robben and spouse Kevin; daughter Maureen and spouse Ryan; daughter Esther and spouse Andrew; his grandchildren Jocelyn and Ryan; John, James, and Claire; and Bo-Anthony, his mom Odelia and Benny Pohl; his brothers Daniel and John Baca; and many family and friends. He passed away with his family surrounding him with endless love.

Ben is remembered for his warm hands, making friends who turned into family, and being someone anyone can depend on. He is greatly missed by everyone who knew him. Benedict was loved by many.

Celebration of Life will be Saturday, October 17, 2026, at Our Lady of the Most Holy Rosary Catholic Church, 5415 Fortuna Rd NW, Albuquerque, NM 87105. Viewing at 9:00 AM, Rosary at 9:15 AM, and Mass at 10:00 AM. Burial will be at Sandia Memory Gardens at 12:00 PM 9500 San Pedro Dr NE, Albuquerque, NM 87113.
