Benny P. Benavidez passed away on May 16, 2026. He was born on October 10, 1936, to Pedro and Perfecta Benavidez.

Benny was a longtime resident of Pavedera, New Mexico. He proudly served in the National Guard, a service that meant a great deal to him and one he carried with pride throughout his life. He was often seen walking and enjoyed spending time doing yard work and farming. Benny loved sharing stories about his younger years and the many people who were part of his life. His stories, presence, and memories will be cherished by those who knew and loved him, and he will be deeply missed.

He is survived by his children, Betty McDaniel, Grace Guerrero, and Alex Benavidez and wife Rose; extended family members Albert Benavidez and wife Robin, Armando Benavidez, Filbert Benavidez and wife Marie, Gina Lopez; and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Pedro and Perfecta Benavidez; Francis Benavidez, Joseph McDaniel, Christopher Benavidez, Matthew McDaniel, Michael Guerrero, and Felix Guerrero.

Pallbearers will be Davey McDaniel Jr., Kevin McDaniel, Felix Guerrero Jr., Richard Guerrero, Jhimayn McDaniel, and Kevin McDaniel Jr.

Honorary pallbearers will be Adrian McDaniel, Matthew McDaniel Jr., Kayden McDaniel, Gershom Benavidez, and Sean Benavidez
