Benny Martin

Benny Martin died July 6, 2011, in Gallup. He was born June 1, 1924, in Crownpoint. Martin was born into the Sleeping Rock People Clan and born for the Towering House People Clan. Martin worked for the Union Pacific Railroad, silversmith and chapter PEP. Survivors include his sister, Virginia Sloan of Crownpoint; four grandchildren. Martin was preceded in death by his wife, Bessie B. Martin; daughter, Mary Benally; three sisters; three brothers; parents. Pallbearers will be Lawrence Esitty, Lance Esitty, Ronald Foster, Beau Morgan, Paul McCabe, Dominic Leslie. The family will meet at Manuelito Chapter House, following services.
