Bernard "Bernie" Eugene Harris, 77, of Farmington, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his loving family. He was born June 13, 19i33 in Springer, New Mexico to Richard and Rose Harris. Bernard met his beloved wife, Nancy Jane Turner in Albuquerque and were married 57 years. Together they raised four children. He was preceded in death by his parents, sister Helen Haddow, brother Richard Harris and a sister, Wanda Donalson. Bernard is survived by his beloved wife Nancy Jane; two sisters, Rose Handy and Shirley Bradley; their 4 children Dale Charles Harris, Steven Douglas Harris (Gaylyn), Arlen Ray Harris, and Tamra Lynn Wells, (Don); 12 grandchildren, Carla Harris (Kelly), Amy Raval (Jeff), Dustin Harris (Ashley), Krystle Irvin (Matt) Nicole Rainwater, Hillary Mantal, Reba Harris, Kayla Harris, Jessica Grapengator, Samantha Ivie, Shayne Hutson, Brendan Hutson; 8 great-grandchildren, Chance, Chase, Autumn, Tristen, Daniele, Matthew, Sophia, and Kaydence and numerous nieces and nephews. Bernie belonged to the Local Union 412 out of Albuquerque as a pipe fitter for 55 years. He was a hard working man and a benefit to the Pipe fitters Trade. Bernie was well respected by everyone who knew him or had every worked for him or around him. He loved going camping and fishing and always had the best kept yard in his neighborhood. Bernie enjoyed being around his family and friends, and he loved the outdoors. His grandchildren were his pride and joy, they kept him young and on the go. Cremation will take place and the family has chosen to celebrate Bernie's life at the home of Don and Tammy Wells, today, Sunday, October 10, 2010 at 1:00 p.m. for those who would like to attend.
