JUDD-Bernard Palmer Judd, 81, passed away at home with his loving family by his side on March 26, 2010. He was born on May 14, 1928 in Norwich, Connecticut, the son of the late Albert Melvin Judd and Gladys Palmer Judd. He graduated from the Norwich Free Academy in 1946. After graduation he enlisted in the Marine Corps and completed basic training in Camp Lejeune, North Carolina and was stationed at Parris Island, South Carolina. Before entering the Marine Corps, Bernie played saxophone for the Charles Fletcher Orchestra earning $24 a week. He was proud that while he played saxophone at night, he drove a gasoline-powered tractor during the day for Holmberg Orchards also earning him $24 per week. In 1952, Bernie married Gloria Elaine Booth and had two daughters, Debbie and Leslie. He worked for 27 years for Thermos King Sealy in Montville, Connecticut, Rochester, New York, and Detroit, Michigan. He later worked for the G.H. Berlin Oil Company and resided in Madison, Connecticut, before starting his own oil distributing business, B&G Oil. He and Gloria retired to Ocala, Florida, where Bernie continued to work for Decca Corporation and the city of Ocala. He and Gloria later moved to Albuquerque, New Mexico. Bernie enjoyed fishing with his grandchildren, gardening, golfing, and following Nascar Racing. Bernie is survived by his daughters, Deborah Majchrzak and Leslie Mouser both of Albuquerque, New Mexico; sons-in-law, John Majchrzak and David Mouser of Albuquerque, New Mexico; brother, Floyd Judd of Preston, Connecticut; grandchildren, John Majchrzak, Raymond Murphy, Kyle Mouser, Macaela Mouser, Andrew Mouser, and great grandchildren, Lily and Chase Majchrzak.
