Bessie Pinto

Funeral services for Bessie Pinto, 75, will be 10 a.m., Wednesday, Oct. 6, at St. Anselm Catholic Mission, Houck. Burial will be in Houck Community Cemetery, Houck. Pinto died Oct. 1, 2010, in Albuquerque. She was born April 10, 1935, in Sanders, into the One Who Walk Around People Clan for the Black Sheep People Clan. Pinto finished 2nd grade at Houck Catholic Mission. He worked as a cook and dish washer in Gallup. She loved to do sewing and was a silversmith, rug weaver and rancher. Survivors include her son, Phillip “Jamie” Pinto. Pinto was preceded in death by her parents, Mary Goldtooth Pinto, James “Binto” Pinto; sister, Mary Jane Pinto; brothers, Mark, Jimmy Jr., Pat Dale Pinto Sr.; sister, Dorothy Yazzie. Pallbearers will be Pat Pinto Jr., Fred Pinto, Irwin Joe, William Slim Jr., Stewart Lewis Jr., Bobby Francis, family members.
